Legendary Sony D-303 (D303) Discman

You are bidding on ONE Sony D-303 Discman c. 1991 in great condition. I am selling this discman because I am scrapping my trans-portable rig and going completely portable. This is one of the most sought after discmans ever produced by Sony, held in high-regard for it's detailed line-out. A simple search on Head-Fi forums or Google will show you all the additonal information you need to know about this discman.

There are minor scratches on the LCD, lid and bottom of this unit, typical of units of this age.

I've only had one problem with this unit. This unit came originally from Canada, and vibrations that were experienced during shipping and extreme cold don't fair well with Discmen. The unit was ice-cold to the touch, and the screw holding the motor in place came loose enroute (there's a thread on Head-Fi about this somewhere). The unit would sit there and spin the disc, but it wouldn't be able to read it, eventually displaying a disc error message. Once I tightened the screw and the unit warmed up to room temperature, the discman has functioned perfectly. Since then, the discman has only stopped working once, and that's because I accidentally placed the unit on top of my subwoofer. As of today, this unit is working fine.

Other key features include DSP and mega bass modes, 1-Bit DAC. This unit runs off a 9v AC supply, BP-2EX battery, or 2 AA batteries.
